Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides expertise to the company in the selection and management of Third Party Logistics providers (3PL's) for the Wholesale business. Supports Vice President of Logistics and provides leadership to the Logistics team

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes distribution requirements of Wholesale customers
  • In conjunction with the VP of Logistics; develops and analyzes RFQ's to ensure that all new Wholesale client specific requirements are met in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Provides distribution guidance to DXL wholesale accounts representative
  • Creates a partnership with wholesale customers' Logistics team
  • Oversees onboarding plan for any new 3PL including EDI requirements
  • Directs processing of shipments in support of Wholesale businessProvides reports on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly actual freight expense, metrics and projections.
    • Develops forecasts of requirements for 3PL's and DC
    • Coordinates Century/forwarders and vendors to ensure timely shipment
    • Communicates pre-shipment data requirements to Global Sourcing
    • Tracks inbound shipments to 3PL's and DC
    • Ensures timely outbound shipment of product to Wholesale customers from DC's
  • Collaborates with Import Manager to support international logistics programs as required.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in Logistics preferred
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in wholesale operations and domestic transportation from company owned and Third Party distribution centers
  • Understanding of EDI documents used in wholesale operations
  • Proven experience in interpreting Wholesale Vendor Routing guides to develop processes that meet customer requirements and avoid chargebacks
  • Working knowledge of Import and Customs processing
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction; etc.
