GENERAL SUMMARY: This position provides an organizational link between the IT department and Distribution Center management team. This position will coordinate software and hardware support and development for the DC systems while working in conjunction with the Manager of Facilities / Maintenance, Logistics, Industrial Engineer and the Systems Director. The ideal candidate will provide supervision and leadership for the definition, development and implementation of new DC applications or systems enhancements.


  • Direct responsibility for support of all DC software
    • Warehouse Management systems
    • Sortation systems
    • DC reporting systems
    • Direct responsibility for communications between the Distribution Center, Logistics Team and the ITdepartment.
    • Manages the definition, design, development and implementation of new applications or enhancements to existing systems. Ensures thorough documentation is maintained.
    • Leads the trouble-shooting and identification of corrective actions necessary to resolve problems encountered in supported application systems, and ensures follow through in time-frames appropriate for the level of urgency.
    • Manages support for production applications and interfaces, monitoring of critical applications and schedule processes.
    • Proposes sound decision alternatives based on a good understanding of the business problems and technical complexities of the retail industry and retail application systems.
    • Partners with business users to ensure all development projects properly target underlying business problems and deliver expected value and customer satisfaction.
    • Responds quickly and maintains a constructive approach to on-going changes in the business.
    • Identifies and recommends new technology, system tools or application software that can improve productivity or otherwise benefit the overall operation of the business.
    • Establishes project plans, and defines milestones and deliverables for projects. Monitors progress and organizes work load and resources to ensure projects are completed accurately, on-time and on-budget.
    • Provides work direction, supervision and guidance to project team members.
    • Delivers high-quality projects by ensuring appropriate and thorough testing.
    • Ensures adherence to corporate development standards.
    • Coordinates with other development groups as required.
    • Communicates team direction and inspires team members to achieve it.
    • Assists the Systems Director and VP Distribution Center in the development of short and long-range plans.
    • Assists in the preparation of formal presentations of projects, recommendations and specifications as required.
    • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.


  • Associates or Bachelor Degree preferably including courses in computer science, business administration, mathematics, statistics or accounting.
  • 5+ year's experience in working with warehouse management systems.
  • 5+ year's experience in working with warehouse sortation systems.



  • Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Labor Management systems
  • Bombay and or tilt tray sortation systems.
  • Inbound and or outbound sortation systems.
  • Report development systems (SCI, Cognos, Crystal).
  • Microsoft tools.
  • Distribution Center Retail and DTC background.
