Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Entry level position assisting Sourcing Manager and or Sourcing Director, Product Development, Technical Designers, Merchants and Vendors to ensure products meet DXLG quality, on-time delivery, and cost and performance requirement. Assist in managing vendor relationships, purchase orders, deliveries, sample schedules and development / production calendar.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Sourcing Director / Manager in managing seasonal calendars, product development cycle and production scheduling.
  • Liaise between Sourcing Directors/Managers and Merchants with overseas agents, vendors and factories.
  • Participate in Merchant and Sourcing meetings to understand margin expectations.
  • Participate in weekly fittings to understand DXLG's fit and quality requirements.
  • Support Sourcing Director and, or Sourcing Manager with costing exercises by organizing samples, trims, projected placements, size ratios and other related costing components to vendors.
  • Trim approvals (including buttons, zippers).
  • Request and monitor AD samples to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Process size scales from Merchants ensuring that vendor confirms delivery, costing and units before processing to PO.
  • Monitor weekly Production Tracking report. Coordinate and schedule weekly production meetings with Sourcing Directors, Managers, QA and Tech Design to monitor key dates and ensure on time delivery,
  • Trouble shoot PO and or EDI issues with cross functional teams to ensure Vendors have accurate information.
  • Work with Quality and Compliance team to trouble-shoot production/quality/factory issues.
  • Other projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSBA degree in Business, Fashion or related experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in overseas sourcing, buying/merchandising in retail or manufacturing organization.
  • Knowledge of fabrics, dying/printing processes and garment construction.


SKILLS:

  • Proven computer skills , Microsoft Word, Excel, Product Life Management system (P.L.M.)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to effectively communicate on an International level.
